Our Story

RAISING PIGS THE WAY THE LAND — AND THE ANIMAL — WERE MEANT TO LIVE.

Field Harvest Farms started with a simple conviction: a pig deserves a life on pasture, not a pen. Not a crate, not concrete, not a barn it will never leave until the day it's loaded onto a truck.

We raise our pigs outdoors, on real ground, moving them across pasture the way nature intended — rooting, wallowing, foraging, living in family groups the way pigs actually behave when you let them. It's slower. It's harder. It costs more. We believe it's the only way to do this honestly.

Most pork in this country never sees daylight. It's raised in confinement operations where pigs spend their entire lives indoors, often unable to turn around, before a final trip to a slaughterhouse they've never been near. We built Field Harvest Farms as the alternative — a farm where the animal's whole life, from birth to harvest, happens in one place, on land it knows, without the stress of transport or the anonymity of an industrial system.

This isn't nostalgia for an old way of farming. It's a belief that how we raise an animal matters — to the animal, to the land, and to the people who will eventually sit down to eat it.

WHAT SETS US APART

We are committed to true pasture-raised pork.

Our pigs live outdoors on rotational pasture, not in confinement barns. They root, forage, wallow, and move across the land in a way that lets pasture recover instead of being stripped bare — building healthier soil instead of degrading it.

We only use humane field harvest.

Our pork is a healthier choice — for you and for the land.

Our pigs are raised without the shortcuts.

Just as we give our pigs the freedom to live as pigs, we believe in honoring that same dignity at the end. Our animals are harvested using a mobile unit brought directly to the pasture where they were raised. They never see the inside of a transport trailer or a commercial slaughter facility — unlike the overwhelming majority of pork raised in the U.S. today.

Our pigs are raised without the shortcuts.

Our pork is a healthier choice — for you and for the land.

Our pigs are raised without the shortcuts.

No confinement crates. No withholding of pasture access. Our animals are raised outdoors, season to season, the way pigs lived before industrial agriculture decided speed and density mattered more than the animal.

Our pork is a healthier choice — for you and for the land.

Pasture-raised pork carries a different nutritional profile than confinement-raised pork, and it comes without the environmental cost of concentrated animal feeding operations — the waste lagoons, the runoff, the degraded land these systems leave behind.

WHY IT MATTERS

It's become harder to eat with a clear conscience. Most of the food system asks us not to look too closely — at how the animal lived, what it ate, whether it ever saw open ground. We think that's backwards.

Field Harvest Farms exists so you don't have to choose between good food and a good conscience. Every pig we raise lives outside, moves freely, and is harvested with the same respect we gave it in life. It's more work. It's a smaller operation than a confinement barn could ever be. But it's honest, and it's ours.

One farm, one herd, one harvest at a time — this is what it looks like to raise food the right way.

PASTURE RAISED. PASTURE HARVESTED. HONESTLY PRICED.

We keep our pricing as simple and transparent as the way we raise our pigs. No hidden fees, no confusion about where your money goes — just a clear breakdown so you know exactly what you're paying for and who you're paying it to.

Your total cost comes down to three things: the meat itself, the mobile harvest team, and your butcher.

The cost of your pork is based on hanging weight — the weight after harvest, before it's cut and packaged. Our pigs typically hang between 90–250 lbs.

Once your pig is processed, you work directly with the butcher to decide exactly how you want it cut — chop thickness, how much goes to sausage, ribs, roasts, all of it. This pork is yours to customize.
